I Have Fallen in Love with My Gardeners!

My new beautiful garden.

Where are you giving love?  To whom or to what do you joyfully and without attachment, give love?  Not because you have to but because you want to?

Recently, we had our upper hillside landscaped.  Our gardener and his crew did the “heavy lifting” - literally.  Once they got on the hill, what was anticipated to be a two to three day job became a seven day job.  These guys hand dug holes for trees and flowers and they dug up old irrigation and roots, putting in 8-10 hour days. You get the idea.

I marveled as I watched them hauling, on their backs, huge buckets of dirt and mulch. I saw their back-breaking work transform the hill into one of beauty and serenity.  As they were working, they discussed new ideas to make the hill more beautiful.  Creative ideas flowed between them regarding plants, retaining walls, and other things that would expand the vision of beauty for our hillside.  All of the  hard work, the sweat and muscles, gave them a feeling of pride at having created something beautiful.

Now when they come, they take such loving care of the flowers and trees, watching the growth and witnessing the beauty. I fell in love with these creative, beautiful, salt of the earth men who gave me such a gift of beauty and joy just by showing up to do the work.

Love expanded within my heart. I am happy to give love as energy to them whenever I pay them but more importantly whenever I see them or think about them.  I give love from a place of gratitude and joy. Every morning when I sit in my beautiful yard and watch the hummingbirds and the bees, I feel the love flowing as the dance of life expresses itself on my hillside.

My personal affirmations that I have been working over the past year goes like this:  “I live and move in an atmosphere of Love. My vision is clear and I see with the eyes of Love. I am safe and all is well.”

It is so easy to open your heart to send love to anyone.  You just have to breathe and see the beauty within you and around you.  See it in the eyes of a stranger or in your animals.  Hear it in the twitter of the birds or in the scent of the fragrance of a garden.  Love isn’t something you wait to come to you.  Love is the activating factor that connects all to the ALL, the One Source Energy of Life. It is easy to love in-spite of your fears, your feelings.  Love is the energy that heals, that expands hearts, and opens minds to the potential of life.  Allow the creativity of life to express through others and allow it to lift you into beauty and serenity.

That’s how I fell in love with my gardeners and what a joyous journey it continues to be.

Namaste,

Susan
